Veet Infini’Silk Pro Light-Based IPL Hair Removal System Review
If the idea of performing IPL hair removal yourself terrifies you, don’t panic. Veet’s Infini’Silk Pro is FDA cleared, and designed to make hair removal as safe and effective as possible.
With a skin contact sensor and skin color sensor, the Infini’Silk Pro will ensure that light pulses will only be emitted on suitable skin tones. A helpful safety guide is included with the device, so you know exactly how to use the Inifi’Silk Pro in a safe way.
Safety aside, this IPL hair removal system is highly effective, and convenient. Veet claims that you’ll see permanent hair reduction in as little as 4-5 treatments, but it took a little longer for us to start seeing permanent results.
Just like the IPL systems you find in clinics and salons, you can use the Infini’Silk Pro on your arms, legs, underarms, back, bikini line and chest. Both men and women can use the device, but you’re advised not to use it on your face.
Each lamp cartridge can deliver up to 5,000 pulses of light, and you can exchange cartridges for different body parts or individuals. Of course, you can also buy replacement cartridges for long-term use of the Veet system.
While the Inifini’Silk Pro is very effective, there are a few things that we have to mention here. Veet’s device is not suitable for:
- Dark skin
- People with abnormal health conditions, including skin cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, or an active implant
- Body hair that is grey, white, blond or red
- Tattooed areas of the body, or areas with permanent makeup
- Areas of the body that have dark brown or black spots
- Areas with abnormal skin conditions, such as open wound sand scars
It’s also important not to use the Veet system while your skin is tanned or exposed to sunlight within the last 28 days (including tanning beds).
Never use the Infini’Silk Pro while you’re pregnant or nursing, or if your skin was treated with a prescription drug within the last three months. You’ll also need to avoid using this device if you have had chemotherapy, radiation or steroid treatment within the last three months.
Most people won’t have a problem using this hair removal system, and they’ll be pleased to see results in as little as four to five treatments.
- Convenient, home use
- Skin color sensor determines if your skin color is safe for use
- Skin contact sensor ensures the light only affects your hair
- Easy to use
- Detailed instructions and safety tips
- Safe to use – cleared by the FDA
- Not suitable for all skin types
While not surprising, the fact that the Veet Infini’Silk Pro is not suitable for all skin types was a bit of a disappointment. The fact of the matter is that IPL systems – even in clinics and salons – are still not suitable for dark skin tones, so it’s not surprising that this system won’t work for everyone.
That being said, Veet offers one of the first at-home IPL hair removal systems that’s safe and easy to use. If you’re looking for an affordable way to achieve permanent hair loss without having to leave your home, the Infini’Silk Pro is an excellent choice.
