Is Blasphemous 2 more difficult? ›

It is much harder than the first game that it is uncomparable. The difficulty spike at elevated temples is so insane that I thought of refunding the game, it is basically where the fun ends.

If you enjoyed the first game, then Blasphemous 2 is a very solid sequel, and if you were put off by the difficulty, then the improvements may be enough for you to get to the end of this trial successfully. Whether you come for the striking imagery of the metroidvania design, Blasphemous 2 is an all-around solid game.

This particular mechanic gives Blasphemous 2 a fresh replayability flavor, as there would be three completely different paths for the first couple of hours (or more) of the game. After the obligatory tutorial in the form of an immediate boss, you are thrown into the madness of the land.

When focusing on the main objectives, Blasphemous II is about 16 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 24 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

I actually thought this one is a lot easier than the first one. The fights actually arent very hard if you have explored much of the map and got most of the upgrades. It's mixed. Some people find it harder, others find it easier.

For those lore junkies, this is a direct follow up to the Blasphemous 1 Eventide DLC that gave the game its true ending. Based once again on the gothic Roman Catholic iconography, this follow up firmly establishes the Blasphemous identity with a deeper richer world.

Blasphemous 2 is an excellent Metroidvania and a marked improvement over the original, even if it did occasionally make me cancel my lunch plans with its grotesqueries. What it lacks in originality with its design it more than makes up for with its bizarre world, appalling story, and inspired look and sound.

The Ruego Al Alba, a one-handed blade, is the most balanced weapon with decent speed and combo damage, as well as lifesteal abilities. The Sarmiento and Centella offer cuts and critical strikes with a sword and dagger, but players need to be careful to avoid enemy retaliation.

Comparing Blasphemous & Blasphemous 2's Beat Times

The first Blasphemous takes almost the same amount of time to be completed as its sequel. To be precise, the main story takes players about 13 hours to complete, and the side quests take another 7 hours, thus in total, fans spend around 20 hours to beat the game.

In the first Blasphemous, once the NG+ option was added the same thing would happen only you had the option to continue to NG+ when you felt ready. But until NG+ gets added to Blasphemous 2, you've currently reached the end. The game ends with the credits.

Your first course of action should be to visit the Basilica of the Absent Faces. You can reach the area by returning to the Lesmes, Incorrupt Sacristan & Sleeping Infanta Boss room, then heading right two rooms.

Is DS2 significantly harder or is it about the same? For my part, 2 has harder area content, while 3 has overall tougher bosses. The style is quite different though. You can't play DS2 anywhere close to as recklessly as you can in 3, there isn't enough stamina in all of Drangleic.

Parrying with the Sword or the Sabers is a little underwhelming and often leads to me getting hit even if I parry correctly, because the Parry animation lasts a little too long and the enemy just bumps into me after doing it, damaging me. Not very fun.

You could get both endings in a single playthrough by getting the bad ending before completing all of the confessor statue arenas to make achievement hunting a little less time consuming but you cannot get all of the achievements in one playthrough.
